Lola Brooke WASSUP WIT IT review

Lola Brooke WASSUP WIT IT review

Lola Brooke returns with “WASSUP WIT IT,” a track that operates with the focused intensity of a Brooklyn sidewalk confrontation.

Where her breakout hit “Don’t Play With It” was a challenge to the world, this new single is a declaration of arrived status. It is a no frills, potent statement of intent.

The production is strategically minimalist, built on a foundation of heavy 808s and crisp hi-hats that leave ample space for Brooke’s voice to command the track.

She uses that space with precision, delivering staccato taunts and a call-and-response hook that locks in with immediate force.

Her ad-libs are not mere filler; they act as calculated punctuations, landing like sharp exclamation points on the beat.

Released via Team Eighty Productions/Arista Records, the single serves as the opening salvo for Brooke’s forthcoming EP, iight bet!, scheduled for November 14.

The EP’s title encapsulates a “say less, I got this” mentality, a mindset the single embodies completely. As her first project since 2023’s Dennis Daughter, which detailed her personal ascent, iight bet! signals a shift toward consolidating power and controlling her narrative.

She doesn’t need gimmicks, she straight leans on the raw power of her cadence and pen, dropping hard-hitting lines with a flow that follows a calculated precision of a heavyweight boxer.

No flashy wind-ups, just quick jabs and a hook that connects with pure knockout force. It’s a clear message: she’s running this show on her own terms.
