Lewis Capaldi dropped his new EP Survive today (14 November), bringing together the four tracks he’s released since his comeback earlier this year.
The collection includes the title track Survive, Something In The Heavens, Almost, and the newly released The Day That I Die.
That final track has already become a standout moment from his recent tour dates, regularly moving both Capaldi and his audiences to tears.
Written about a period when, in his words onstage, “I didn’t think I would be here anymore,” the song sees him singing “On the day that I die, tell my mother I was smiling ’cause I know that she’ll be crying.”
The EP follows Capaldi’s return to music in June after nearly two years away from the spotlight. His Glastonbury 2023 set had been cut short due to struggles with Tourette’s syndrome, prompting him to step back and focus on his mental and physical health.
His comeback performance at Glastonbury 2025 saw him play a surprise Pyramid Stage set, debuting Survive in front of thousands.
Survive went on to become his sixth UK number one, posting the biggest single opening week of 2025 at the time, ahead of releases from Sabrina Carpenter and Lady Gaga, before later being overtaken by Taylor Swift’s The Fate of Ophelia.
Capaldi’s now announced massive 2026 tour dates, including a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, a confirmed date at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and two BST Hyde Park shows, the first already sold out.
He’s been pretty open about the therapy that helped him get back on stage. Good to see him back.
