Jordan Mackampa Releases The Uplifting ‘Parachutes’

By Lucy LernerNovember 6, 2019
Jordan Mackampa

“I’ve never been up so high as parachutes”

‘Parachutes’ is the latest installment in Jordan Mackampa’s soulful story. It is a clever song as it changes tempo as the song progresses and feels uplifting, rather like being carried by the wind mirroring the title ‘Parachutes’.

“Scratching the surface, and we’re all imperfect but there’s something about you”

‘Parachutes’ was produced by Dani Castelar (Paolo Nutini) and follows Jordan’s September release of ‘What Am I’. It is a feel-good track that highlights his comforting vocals, talented songwriting and flair for telling a narrative through his lyrics.

Jordan speaks about his new single: “‘Parachutes’ encapsulates those situations with people you’ve come across in life; who aren’t who they pretend to be and the person they are with you, isn’t someone you want to be around. However because you love them, either platonically or romantically, you’re conflicted by your feelings for them until it gets to a point where you don’t want to be hurt anymore.

Nobody is perfect, but if you were trapped in an airplane with them and they had a parachute but you didn’t you would jump out regardless, because any pain you would experience afterwards, won’t be as bad as what you’ve already gone through.”

Jordan is gearing up for his debut album ‘Foreigner’ which will be released on 13th March 2020. The 11 track album will include ‘Parachutes’, ‘Under’ and ‘What Am I’.
