Rather than kicking off the album rollout with a radio-friendly lead single, Halsey opted for a more intimate approach, offering this deeply vulnerable track as a special glimpse “just for”us”—her devoted fanbase.

The haunting opening verse pulls no punches, with Halsey candidly sharing, “Every couple of years now, a doctor says I’m sick / Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks / And then they lay it on me / And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain…”

The End lyrics are raw, shedding light on the singer’s ongoing health battles.

In a brave display of authenticity, Halsey accompanied the song’s release with social media posts that included videos documenting hospital visits and medical treatments.

The caption read: “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive. Short story long, I wrote an album. It begins with The End. Out now.”

This heart-on-sleeve transparency sets the tone for what promises to be a cathartic and transformative body of work.

Their philanthropic efforts include contributions to The Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance, underscoring their dedication to advocacy and support for those grappling with similar health challenges.

The End Lyrics:Halsey’s Emotive Songwriting

The End, a powerful single, delves into the depths of personal adversity and the quest for love in times of trial.

This stirring composition serves as a poignant addition to the artist’s diverse catalogue, co-produced with the creative talents of Michael Uzowuru and Alex G, the latter also lending his guitar prowess to the track.

Anticipated Fifth Studio Album

The End stands as the first glimpse into Halsey’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, following the critically acclaimed “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power” from 2021, which was produced in collaboration with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails fame.

The End: Longing for Love and Vulnerability

At the heart of The End lies a profound meditation on the essence of love and the courage to be vulnerable amidst life’s unpredictability.

The chorus, “If you knew it was the end of the world / Could you love me like a child? / Could you hold me in the dark?” captures a deep longing for unwavering affection and solace.

Embracing Imperfections and Hope

Confronting fears of perceived imperfection, Halsey expresses a poignant vulnerability with lines such as “When I met you, I thought I was damaged goods / Had a troubled past.”

Yet, within this narrative of pain and doubt, a beacon of optimism shines through – Halsey sings of a companion who brings not only emotional support but also a promise of healing.

Tender Conclusion on Mortality

The narrative arc reaches a tender conclusion as Halsey contemplates their own mortality, articulating a heartfelt plea: “And I know it’s not the end of the world, but could you pick me up at 8? / ‘Cause my treatment starts today.”

This delicate finale weaves together the intricate tapestry of life with chronic illness, balancing hope and resilience against the backdrop of inherent human fragility.

A Sanctuary for Listeners

The End invites listeners to delve into the profound themes of self-acceptance, the delicate nature of existence, and the transformative power of love.

Halsey’s openness in sharing their struggles strikes a chord with fans who find themselves in parallel situations, nurturing a community bonded by empathy and solidarity.

For those seeking comfort and connection through music, The End offers a sanctuary.

Halsey’s expressive vocals, coupled with the song’s poignant lyrics, carve out a space where listeners can face their vulnerabilities and discover strength in collective experiences.

An Anthem of Human Resilience

By leading with The End, Halsey invites listeners to an unguarded exploration of personal vulnerability, resilience, and the healing power of music.

As the opening salvo in this new era, the song encapsulates the artist’s commitment to emotional honesty and connection with their fanbase.

Halsey The End Lyrics

Verse 1
Every couple of years now, a doctor says I’m sick
Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks
And then they lay it on me
And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain
And I don’t like to complain, but I’m saying sorry

Pre-Chorus
When I met you, I thought I was damaged goods
Had a fucked up childhood
And there’s poison in my brain and in my blood

Chorus
If you knew it was the end of the world
Could you love me like a child?
Could you hold me in the dark?
If you knew it was the end of the world
Would you like to stay a while?
Would you leave when it gets hard?

Verse 2
So I ran into the clinic and I asked to see the man
With his white coat and his stethoscope
Like a snake around his hand
And I told him I’m not bitter ’cause I finally found a lover
Who’s better for my liver, and now I’ll finally recover

Pre-Chorus
When I met him, I thought I was damaged goods
From a real bad neighborhood
So we wrestled in the mud
And I told him he could stay right where he stood
But I don’t know if he should
‘Cause once my God destroys the flesh, then there’s the flood

Chorus
If you knew it was the end of the world
Could you love me like a child?
Could you hold me in the dark?
If you knew it was the end of the world
Would you like to stay a while?
Maybe we could build an ark

Bridge
We could sail on broken driftwood through the sopping wet terrain
And count the buildings and the bodies getting swallowed by the rain
And in the water, there’s the doctor who didn’t listen to my claim
What a shame, he’s circling a drain

Outro
When I met you, I said I would never die
But the joke was always mine ’cause I’m racing against time
And I know it’s not the end of the world, but could you pick me up at 8?
‘Cause my treatment starts today
