Escaping Reality: Clara Lars Nobody’s Tired Takes You on a Dreamlike Journey

Nobody’s Tired by Clara Lars is a distinctive piece which explores feelings of escapism and how easy it is to feel overwhelmed in today’s world.

If there is one thing that can be said about this song before you listen to it; it’s that it will surely be circulating in your mind long after you have!

The lyrics are so catchy and melodic that it effortlessly stays with you.

The song was co-produced with Chris Coady and the lyrics are inspired by Clara’s real-life events and experiences.

Coady and Clara became acquainted in 2021 and they started collaborating on her alternative, beautiful sound.

Clara originates from Brooklyn, New York and her family moved to LA when she was 10 years old which created some discomfort for her.

Her escapism was found when playing the piano and songwriting which remedied her anxieties.

When the pandemic hit in 2020; Clara created a makeshift studio in her home, and she started the process of learning to produce her own music.

While the world was in lockdown; Clara produced her first EP Illusions. Now, we have the joy of hearing her new release Nobody’s Tired.

The song starts with a dreamlike, slow beat and husky vocals, swiftly followed up by a synth-style backing track and quick rap-esque lyrics.

The song feels like someone is running as it builds momentum and speed and we are travelling on the journey with it.

This correlates with the feeling that we are escaping whilst listening to it.

Clara Lars discusses the song, “‘Nobody’s Tired’ is about wanting to move to an island (“Talk to my fears like a friend/Sell them for money and buy an island”). I thought ‘what if I just moved to an island and ditched everything and everyone?’”
