Doechii's New Mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal Arrives August 30

Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records artist Doechii is gearing up for the release of her new mixtape, ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal,’ set to drop on August 30.

This 19-track project marks a significant milestone for the artist, coinciding with her 26th birthday and coming two years after her last major release.

On August 20, Doechii took to social media to unveil the mixtape’s tracklist, engaging fans with the question, “Which one are you claiming?”

The announcement drew support from fellow artists, including Kehlani, Joey Bada$$, Reason, and Yebba, who expressed their excitement in the comments section.

‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’ is poised to showcase Doechii’s versatility, blending elements of psychedelic soul, spiritual jazz, and various rap styles.

The project is said to reflect both her Tampa origins and her more recent Los Angeles influences, offering listeners a multifaceted glimpse into her artistic vision.

Accompanying the announcement, Doechii released “BOOM BAP,” a new single that emphasises her commitment to pushing musical boundaries.

In the track, she boldly asserts her multifaceted identity, challenging attempts to confine her artistry to a single genre or category.

The lead-up to this release has been marked by Doechii’s “Swamp Sessions,” a series of hour-long creative challenges resulting in tracks like “NISSAN ALTIMA,” “BULLFROG,” and “CATFISH.”

These sessions have given fans insight into her rapid-fire creativity and diverse musical approach.

Doechii’s recent successes include her hit “Alter Ego,” which earned praise from SZA and garnered over 15 million Spotify streams, including a remix featuring JT.

She’s also released “MPH” and collaborated with Sprite’s Limelight program on the single “ROCKET.”

Her rise in the music industry has been meteoric, with What It Is (Block Boy) accumulating more than 600 million global streams.

Doechii has also made waves with singles like “Booty Drop” and “Pacer” and has shared stages with industry giants, opening for Beyoncé and touring with Doja Cat.

Building on her 2022 EP ‘she / her / black bitch,’ Doechii has solidified her position in the music world.

Her accolades include being named an XXL Freshman and receiving nominations at the 2022 MTV VMAs and Soul Train Music Awards.

She’s made notable appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” at the 2022 BET Awards and delivered a standout performance at Coachella 2023.

The mixtape’s cover art, revealed earlier this month, features Doechii holding an albino alligator, adding a striking visual element to the project’s rollout.

Fans can pre-save ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’ now, in anticipation of its August 30 release. The full tracklist is as follows:
