Chloe Moriondo’s Oyster Is a Submerged Daydream in Synth and Sentiment

Chloe Moriondo’s Oyster Is a Submerged Daydream in Synth and Sentiment

Chloe Moriondo’s new single oyster floats between disorientation and discovery, coating alt-pop vulnerability in synthetic shimmer.

The title track from her new album slips into a psychedelic dream-state, where hushed vocals whisper from below the surface and slowly bloom into something brighter, stranger, and more alive.

“My world is an oyster / And my heart is a pearl,” Chloe sings, stretching metaphors into emotional architecture.

There’s buoyancy in the looped percussion and electronic glitches, but also a weight — the kind you feel when you’re treading emotional water.

The production swells and dips like sonar waves. Synth textures ripple.

The beat repeats like a thought you can’t let go. “Crack open just to spit out treasure,” she sings, capturing that weird mix of self-exposure and guardedness that threads through the track.

Describing the song as “frustrations about life,” Chloe explains, “I am floating under all the pressure / Up, up, up, so I can breathe.”

There’s a weariness in the lyrics, but never defeat — just the surreal honesty of someone learning how to breathe underwater.

It’s the kind of track that doesn’t ask to be decoded. You feel it first. Then you sink into it.

Oyster Lyrics by Chloe Moriondo

Verse 1
My world is an oyster
I am on and off screen
You are in the clouds while I am
At the bottom of the sea
I am floating under all the pressure
Up, up, up, so I can breathe
Crack open just to spit out treasure
Closing in between my teeth

Pre-Chorus
Swim by, don’t cry
This life can’t die
Don’t hide, it’s fine
Just try, get high

Chorus
It gets so hard to keep up with all of the broken parts I leave
Leave ’em laying down in the dark, down in the dark
Leave ’em laying down in the dark, down in the dark, oh
Gets so hard to keep up with all of the broken parts I leave
Leave ’em laying down in the dark, down in the dark
Leave ’em laying down in the dark, down in the dark, oh

Verse 2
My world is an oyster
And my heart is a pearl
You can find it if you’re lucky
But be careful with a special girl
I am floating under all the pressure
Giving up what I don’t need
I’m the salt and all the seaweed, baby
I’m the fish and I’m the feed
