Arms Akimbo Make 2018 Their Own With New Single ‘Devil’

By Henry GrovesJuly 9, 2018

Arms Akimbo are having a very productive start to 2018, with their EP ‘The Wrong Kind of Dance Party’ released in February and now new single ‘Devil’ released last week, they certainly are trying to make 2018 their own. Arms Akimbo is a 4-piece from Los Angeles who started a band whilst at college after discovering a mutual love for bands like Portugal The Man, Hippo Campus, and Local Natives.

‘Devil’ is all about their relationship with Los Angeles and how they can both love and hate living there. They describe the way that celebrity status is one of the most important aspects of living in LA and how faux-celebrity identities are formed through social media.

‘Devil’ shows the feel-good and summery vibes that Arms Akimbo are known for. Although it still brings the typical upbeat feeling, it is definitely toned down and stripped back compared to their previous releases. Even laid bare, Arms Akimbo is definitely one of those bands who are ideal for those relaxing moments in the sun, and ‘Devil’ is no exception. This could even be my song of the summer.
