Anna Pancaldi’s new single ‘Peace’ leads her to a new direction and sound. Described as a ‘foot stomper’ track, it has more of a classic indie-rock feel as Anna experiments with new instruments and it follows effortlessly from her bold previous offering ‘What I’ve Become’.

Anna comments on these new changes to her music, “A challenge at first but now an exhilarating awakening having discovered and then explored the electric guitar. ‘Peace’ is my first ‘foot stomper’ track which I think will surprise listeners who’ve been on the journey with me so far. It feels a bold evolution for me so here we go.

It’s admirable to go down an unknown route, and in Anna Pancaldi’s case, turn away from her previous style with songs in open arrangements, beckoning instrumentation and atmosphere which came off her ‘Sweet Charity’ EP. Since working with producer Matt Ingram (Florence & The Machine, Lianne La Havas, Laura Marling) her new single ‘Peace’ moves away from her previous style. Anna sounds great on the track, and the track is held together with her memorable hooks. Embracing the challenge to go down more of an electric-guitar-driven route is an interesting idea and I look forward to seeing what she can bring with this new sound.

Anna Pancaldi is a singer-songwriter who has enjoyed success in both the UK and US, where she made her US live TV debut on CBS. Her music has also been featured on US TV show ‘Famous in Love’, a popular drama show on ABC Network featuring Bella Thorne. Anna has been collaborating with Levi’s for a while, for whom she penned a song for their Lot 700 jeans collection and featured in the accompanying advert.

I saw Anna live at the Sebright Arms in London earlier this month and her solo performances were a joy to listen to. The stories she told during the song intervals in which she entertained the audience with stories from her tour that were truly funny and got the whole room laughing. She had a great stage presence and it was lovely to see her care so much about her fans and have such a good time on stage.

Anna Pancaldi’s potential is exciting and I do look forward to seeing where her journey takes her.
