A Vulnerable Ode To Love: Woodes Releases The Enchanting Single Magic

A Vulnerable Ode To Love: Woodes Releases The Enchanting Single Magic

Australian singer-songwriter Woodes has just released her latest single Magic, and it’s nothing short of enchanting. This endearing pop anthem is a wistful and vulnerable ode to love, capturing the heart of unravelling as it reflects on the beauty of a relationship that is falling apart.

“It reflects on how beautiful the relationship had been, even though I could feel it falling apart in real-time. When me and my ex met, we said that even though heartbreak can be painful, falling in love with each other felt so powerful that it was worth the risk. “Magic” really captures the heart of the unraveling.” – Woodes

Soft and tender piano keys and wistful, heartfelt vocals enveloped in delicate percussion creates a dreamy atmosphere that perfectly suits Woodes’ introspective lyrics.

Pulls me flying backwards
Hits me like some magic
There’s something about your love

Felt like we were magnets
Til we weren’t oh it was tragic
There’s something about your love
Cloudy mountain tops,
You’re quiet on the walk
Used to talk in double time
When did that all stop?

Lyrically, Magic is perhaps Woodes’ most personal song to date. She sings of a relationship that was once full of wonder and joy, but is now slowly slipping away. The song captures the bittersweet feeling of looking back on something beautiful that’s fading away, with lines like “eloquently, evidently drift apart from me.”

Woodes’ vocals are particularly impressive on Magic. Her voice is delicate and vulnerable, yet filled with a sense of determination and resilience that makes the song all the more affecting. Her performance is particularly impressive during the song’s soaring chorus.

Magic will capture listeners who have experienced the heartache of a relationship coming to an end. And those who simply love good music.
