Friction Releases Debut Album ‘Connections’

By Thomas HarveySeptember 12, 2018

Multi-award winning drum & bass producer, Friction released his brand new 12 track debut album, ‘Connections’ on Friday 7th September, alongside a packed album launch party that propelled all hype for the album into its release and provided a preview for all grateful attendees.

Having the pleasure of being at the launch party, I caught an early glimpse into the album. ‘Connections’ is an album that reiterates Friction as one of the top producers of diversity in drum & bass – blending each track with eclectic, yet consistent movements through the album. Tracks like ‘Commotion’ laced with the serene vocals of Jem Cooke display an emotional setting that elevates his flexibility as a producer in the many different realms. ‘Mad In The Jungle’ with Doktor, toys with a dub movement into a feisty break that is seen across the album with the more up-tempo moments shown in tracks such as ‘Killing Me’ featuring Rothwell.

The launch party event was held at the East London industrial venue The Pickle Factory – a renowned venue showcasing an illustrious mix of artists across a selection of genres in a more intimate space for those lucky enough to snag a ticket. With a supporting line-up (A.M.C., Turno btb with Benny L and Technimatic), Friction created the perfect scenario to promote his record in a room filled with ecstatic fans and music industry members in a personal yet packed space.

Friction concluded the party by kindly mentioning his gratefulness to all of his friends and fans and sending the evening off with a suitable choice of ‘Commotion’ that confirmed his humbleness and I have no doubt about the success of the album.
