East Harbor’s GHOST: The Perfect Haunt for Your Halloween Playlist

By Lucy LernerOctober 9, 2024
East Harbor’s GHOST: The Perfect Haunt for Your Halloween Playlist

East Harbor’s latest track, GHOST, is one of those songs that grabs you right from the opening riff and won’t let go.

It’s dark and eerie, but in the best way, with an energy that keeps your foot tapping.

GHOST feels like it was made for fall – like something you’d hear at a Halloween party right before the costumes (and the night) start getting weird.

The huge driving guitars in GHOST slice through the spooky atmosphere like a jagged knife, adding that needed bite to the track’s haunting, melodic core.

GHOST is moody, but danceable, which gives it a fun and emotional vibe.

You’ll be chanting “I just saw my ghost last night” in no time.

The eerie vibe is well balanced as it weaves through the melody with just enough flair to give you chills while keeping the groove alive.

Picture the Pixies’ Where Is My Mind? but with a beat you can head-bob to.

The lyrics are repetitive in the best way possible, sticking with you and making you question if that shadow in the corner was always there.

If you’re into MGK’s pop-punk revival or the emotional rush of Paramore and Olivia Rodrigo, you’ll feel right at home with GHOST.

This isn’t just another “sad but vibey” track. It’s got more grit to it. Something closer to Twenty One Pilots when they’re leaning hard into their shadowy side.

East Harbor has knocked it out of the park with this one. It’s mysterious, it’s got heart, and it’ll have you hooked.

We all need a little ghost story in our playlist this time of year so why not add GHOST? It might haunt you in all the right ways.

Dive into East Harbors discography.

East Harbor GHOST Lyrics

V1
I’ve been living like there’s no hope
True to myself only at home
Sank every lifeboat
Found out I could float
And you just taught me everything I didn’t know
I say the wrong things
And I committed every sin
I suck at listening and I’m just in my head again Feelings change so I can’t be over confident
Walking contradiction
You love keeping track of it

Chorus
But I just saw my ghost last night
Asked him if we were alright
He told me that he didn’t wanna fight
Yeah I just saw my ghost last night

V2
This can’t be the real me
I’m fading, don’t tempt me
Got too drunk now I’m lazy
Gotta hone this in I’ve been busy
Don’t text me later when you’re lonely
I’m doing me now, I got a whole team
No one hears you when you’re screaming like that
I’m not making any sense
You don’t know me like that

Chorus 2
Yeah I just saw my ghost last night
Asked him if we were alright
He told me that he didn’t wanna fight
Yeah I just saw my ghost last night

Bridge
I just saw my ghost last night (I just saw my ghost)
Asked him if we were alright
He told me that he didn’t wanna fight (Wanna fight)
Yeah I just saw my ghost last night (I just saw my ghost)

Chorus 3
Yeah I just saw my ghost last night
(I just saw my ghost, I just saw my ghost last night)
Yeah I just saw my ghost last night
(I just saw my ghost, I just saw my ghost last night)
But I just saw my ghost last night
(I just saw my ghost, I just saw my ghost last night)
Yeah I just saw my ghost last night
(I just saw my ghost, I just saw my ghost last night)
