Sensual Grooves From Solomons Garden With New EP ‘Naked Bearings’

By Lucy LernerJune 8, 2018

There’s no need to introduce talented four-piece Solomons Garden. However, if you are not a long-term reader of Britznbeatz then you might not be aware of our adoration for the neo-soul group’s music having featured their previous two EPs. Only formed in 2015, the university friends are fast being recognised on the British music scene having performed at Latitude Festival last year and a regular at Sofar Sounds, various other festivals and last week they had an evening with Solomons Garden.

‘Naked Bearings’ is their latest project and despite sticking with the genres they know, Solomons Garden still produces music with a harmony-rich and fresh edge. It’s like the warmth and comfort of a cocktail you know and love, but with a lip-smacking, zingy new ingredient. ‘Love Letter’ and ‘The Manhattan Project’ in particular have more of a haunting, electronic feel compared to some of the previous tracks. ‘Let You In’ is the perfect introduction to the EP with its sensual grooves and other tracks ‘PastPresentFuture’, ‘Wolf/Sunset’ and ‘Eye Of The Hurricane’ encapsulate the Solomons Garden sound with smooth vocals which you can sink into and a dreamy reverie. Their emotion-rich, lush distillation of R&B and dusty soul is not to be missed.

You can see Solomons Garden at Hideaway on 21st June – buy tickets here.
