Marco Luka, the captivating voice behind Weston Estate, has recently dropped his latest solo single, protect. It’s an intimate dive into love’s complexities. The combination of delicate guitar strums with Luka’s vocals effortlessly transitions from the depths of vulnerability to soaring heights of passion, capturing sentiments of love and the intricacies of human connection.

The lyrics of protect paint a poignant picture of two lovers trapped in a dance of fear and longing. The opening verse, “I can take the world from you, oh / And you can take the world from me,” sets the stage for a tale of love that’s both comforting and confining. The chorus, with its haunting repetition of “I want you,” is a heart-wrenching cry for connection amidst the chaos of change.

The accompanying music video, directed by the talented CQ, adds another layer to the narrative.

As the lead single from his upcoming EP INSOMNIA, protect offers an exciting glimpse into what’s to come.

In his own words, Luka describes protect as a song about two lovers staying together out of fear of being misunderstood. It’s a sentiment that resonates, especially in a world where true connection often feels elusive. The song’s closing lines, “Cause it hurts for me to tell you, ‘I don’t love you anymore'”, are a stark reminder of the fragility of love and the courage it takes to let go.

Protect is a song that invites listeners to reflect, to feel, and most importantly, to connect.
