The Money War Ride Into The Moment With Their New Single

By Marcus AdetolaMay 30, 2023
The Money War Ride Into The Moment With Their New Single

The Money War, the Perth-based duo of Dylan Ollivierre and Carmen Pepper, has been making waves with their dreamy indie-pop sound since 2016. Their latest single, Ride, is a stripped-back acoustic gem that showcases their emotive vocals and lyrical prowess.

Ride is inspired by the idea of living in the moment and finding happiness in simplicity. Ollivierre says he wanted the song to feel like a “lost demo”, a bit rough around the edges and intimate. Pepper adds that the song is a reminder to enjoy the present, even when things are chaotic and uncertain.

The song features only guitar and vocals, creating a raw and honest atmosphere that draws the listener in. Ollivierre’s voice is warm and soothing, while Pepper’s harmonies add a touch of sweetness. The lyrics are simple but effective, capturing the essence of being content with what you have and who you are with.

Ride is the first taste of The Money War’s upcoming EP, I Don’t Hear You Anymore, set for release on June 23. The EP will feature six songs exploring love, loss, and resilience themes. The duo says they wrote the songs during a difficult time in their lives, but they hope they can bring some comfort and joy to others.

The Money War is one of the most exciting acts coming out of Australia right now, and if you’re looking for a song that will make you feel good and appreciate the simple things in life, Ride is the perfect choice.
