Thea’s HIDE & SEEK, An Emotional Journey Through Love And Loss

By Marcus AdetolaFebruary 17, 2023
Thea's HIDE & SEEK, An Emotional Journey Through Love And Loss

HIDE & SEEK by Thea Alien is a sonic piece that blends Alternative R&B, Neo-Soul, and Break Beat, transporting listeners on an emotional journey through the ups and downs of a relationship. The track opens with melancholy but soon transforms into a driving breakbeat, aided by tender vocals from Thea and electric bass. The surrealistic ambiance created by distorted vocals and elegant synth arpeggios adds a new dimension to the track, letting listeners float away before being pulled back into the anthemic chorus.

“Writing the lyrics and melody for ‘HIDE & SEEK’ was a fragile, intimate moment for me. It wasn’t something I particularly planned to write. The song tells the circle of being friends, maybe lovers to going back to the feeling of being strangers. The situation when you are slowly realizing you are about to lose someone and there is nothing you can do about it. You are caught in the situation watching everything fall apart.” – Thea Alien

Thea Alien’s HIDE & SEEK is a surreal reflection of the emotional turmoil of losing someone you love, leaving you powerless and watching everything fall apart. The delicate and intimate lyrics and melody make this track a must-listen.
