Finally, Spring is upon us! That means lighter evenings, warmer weather and (hopefully) beer gardens. Sunny evenings after work piled into pubs when it’s still light outside, after being stuck indoors all day, lifts everyone’s mood massively. It’s amazing what a bit of sun can do to your mood; you’re no longer feeling gloomy trapped indoors because of the miserable weather, and you’re finally able to enjoy your days outside without a brolly.

Another great reason to love Spring is the fashion. You forget how nice it is to wear clothes without wrapping up and you get to wear those dresses that have been gathering dust in your wardrobe since last year. Maxi dresses, midi dresses, midaxi dresses… they will all make an appearance again. They can be styled with sandals and sunglasses which is a nice change to jeans and boots for the winter where we wrapped up to brave the frosty temperatures.

Now that we have a more positive outlook for the Summer thanks to that great announcement, it’s time to stop living in leggings and find out-out attire (and that doesn’t mean going out to the big Tesco). Smock dresses are great – they hide a multitude of sins and they’re pretty so they’re a definite winner. Bright suits are also very spring-friendly: they’re colourful, flattering and can be worn multiple times for different outfits. Then there are jumpsuits: the most versatile piece of clothing. They can be styled up or down, worn with trainers and layers in the day and dressed up with heels and statement jewellery at night. A perfect wardrobe piece. And if you’re after something that will still keep you warm in this ‘fool’s Spring’ then trench coats are fab – they’re long enough to keep you warm and they can tie an outfit together, giving it a smarter look, or they can add an element of grunge, whatever suits you.

Spring fashion is fun to play with and gives a nod to the upcoming warmer months. Who would have thought we’d be planning summery outfits for days out enjoying time with loved ones… finally we’re getting some normality back!
