RAY BLK Teams Up With Tiana Major9 on New Single Disaster

RAY BLK Teams Up With Tiana Major9 on New Single 'Disaster'

RAY BLK‘s latest single Disaster with Tiana Major9 flips the script on catastrophe, transforming personal chaos into a soulful anthem about necessary destruction.

A Forest Fire EP
A Forest Fire EP

Released as part of her raw EP, A Forest Fire, the track digs deep into the concept that sometimes everything needs to burn down before new growth can emerge.

The production creates a spacious sanctuary where both artists explore their relationship with upheaval.

RAY BLK’s opening verse, “All these mountains I made from a mole,” cuts straight to the heart of anxiety and overthinking, while the pre-chorus breathes with quiet confidence:

“Watch the smoke as it rises / I ain’t scared of a little fire.”

Tiana Major9’s contribution adds a rich layer of earned wisdom to the mix.

Her verse about breaking down to build something taller is a crystalising moment—it’s not just about surviving difficulty but actively choosing it as a catalyst for change.

The metaphor of a forest fire works brilliantly here without feeling forced.

What makes Disaster stick isn’t just its message but how the production mirrors the lyrics’ themes.

The instrumental builds with subtle intensity, never overwhelming but always moving forward, much like the regenerative process both artists describe.

The chorus lands with particular impact: “Think I need change, maybe I need disaster” is a line that challenges typical R&B narratives about weathering storms.

This release marks an exciting evolution for RAY BLK, who’s stepped away from major label constraints to craft something deeply authentic.

After featuring in BBC’s Champion and launching her nail brand Blklisted, she’s brought that same entrepreneurial spirit to her music.

Disaster is out now on all major platforms.

Verse 1: RAY BLK
All these mountains I made from a mole
When the rain comes, it pours, it falls
On the wrong side, it’s a hard ride
I could look forward to a better day
But what’s an umbrella to a hurricane?
Maybe in time, they’ll be sunshine

Pre-Chorus: RAY BLK
Watch the smoke as it rises
I ain’t scared of a little fire
I just needed a time breathe for me

Chorus: RAY BLK
Like a forest, growing without warning
Feel like change is calling
I can take the heat
Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn, let it burn
Think I need change, maybе I need disaster
Let it burn, let it burn, lеt it burn, let it burn
And when it’s over, new leaves come in

Verse 2: Tiana Major9
Break down to build something taller
Broke it down, yes, my circle got smaller
Breaking out the chains, set me free like I’m Turner
Gotta wade in the waters unknown
Slow dancing in the fumes
Inhale just to exhale
I’m high on something new, new, oh

Pre-Chorus: Tiana Major9
Watch the smoke as it rises
‘Cause I ain’t scared of a a little fire
I just the time to breathe for me

Chorus: RAY BLK & Tiana Major9
Like a forest, growing without warning
Feel like change is calling
I can take the heat (I can take the heat)
Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn, let it burn
Think I need change, maybe I need disaster
Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn, let it burn
And when it’s over, new leaves come in
Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn, let it burn
Think I need change, maybe I need disaster
Let it burn, let it burn, let it burn, let it burn
And when it’s over, new leaves come in

Outro: RAY BLK & Tiana Major9
And when it’s over, new leaves come in
(Come in)
And when it’s over, new leaves come in
And when it’s over, new leaves come in
(In, in)
Ooh, ah
