Morgan Wallen Reflects on His Biggest Hits in New ‘Billions Club’ Series

Morgan Wallen Reflects on His Biggest Hits in New 'Billions Club' Series

Morgan Wallen’s joined Spotify’s exclusive Billions Club series, and he’s now the first country artist to feature in the programme.

Not bad considering only Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, and Miley Cyrus have appeared before him.

The Tennessee native’s got three tracks past the billion-stream mark on Spotify – “Last Night,“ “Whiskey Glasses,” and “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone. Makes him the only country artist with a trio of songs.

No other country artist’s managed three songs at that level. The closest anyone got was Florida Georgia Line and Dan + Shay with one apiece.

Best bit of the video? Wallen’s stood there with these three massive plaques and you can see him thinking “what on earth am I supposed to do with these?”

Answer: unscrews them, bolts them onto his quad bike as hubcaps. Only problem is he’s got four wheels and three plaques, so there’s this one sad wheel left bare. He’s already half-joking about needing Spotify to come back with another one.

“Last Night” apparently had that feeling right from the start – you know, when everyone in the studio just knows they’ve got something.

That track made history back in 2023 as the first solo country song to hit a billion streams on Spotify. Changed everything for Wallen, really.

Spent 16 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, which is the longest run for a solo male country artist in over 40 years. Even became the first song ever to rack up a billion on-demand streams in the US within a single year.

Dive into the ultimate rankings with Neon Music’s definitive countdown: The 50 Most Streamed Songs of All Time.

“Whiskey Glasses” was his first serious breakthrough hit though, dating back to 2019. He’s still riding that momentum, apparently grateful for how it kicked everything off. The track’s been steadily climbing ever since he first dropped it on his 2016 EP.

Then there’s “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone, which broke Spotify’s record for most-streamed country song in a single day.

That crossover appeal’s become Wallen’s calling card – he’ll flip between straight country and something that sounds like it belongs on pop radio without missing a beat.

The Billions Club series gives artists a chance to talk through what these achievements actually mean to them beyond just the numbers.

For Wallen, you get the sense these aren’t just chart positions – they’re markers of how far he’s come in the past few years, from regional success to genuinely dominating both country and mainstream charts.

With tracks like “Wasted On You” and “You Proof” from his 2023 album One Thing At A Time already sitting past 900 million streams each, reckon he’ll be back for that fourth hubcap before long.
