Kendall Bowser Touches Hearts With Hey Ruby

Dallas, Texas-born singer-songwriter Kendall Bowser is a 17-year-old who is touching the hearts of fans and using her music to help others.

Hey Ruby is an emotional song essentially speaking to the dog of an ex, just to see what life is like after her. Bowser says “This one’s about talking to my ex’s dog, Ruby, asking about my ex’s life because Ruby is still there with him. It’s one of those “I don’t really miss him, I just want to know what’s going on in his life” kind of songs. I wanted to make it seem like I was talking to someone, the new girl perhaps, until the second verse where I ask if they take Ruby walking through the same streets. I hope you love this song as much as I loved creating it.”

I think this is one of the most relatable songs this Spring for many people all over the world. The song is so gentle and when accompanied by Bowser’s stunning airy voice creates a nostalgic picture in the minds of listeners. We hear the delicate guitar strings met with a gentle drum in the song and it creates a very solemn atmosphere echoing sadness and wonder.

Hey Ruby conveys the message it is trying to portray of inquisitive curiosity about your ex-partner’s life but also simultaneously maintaining the message that Bowser is not trying to be back in that place, she just wants to know what life is like without her there.

“This one is for anyone that’s wondered how their past forever is doing.” – Kendall Bowser
