Float Into Summer With ESSIRAY’s New Single Floating Up
The weather’s getting warm, it’s almost beer garden weather, the festival season’s coming up… and today ESSIRAY has dropped her new single Floating Up, the perfect addition to your summer soundtrack.
Created in collaboration with producer and musician Alex O’Keefe, Irish singer, songwriter and producer ESSIRAY has taken inspiration from artists such as Pink Pantheress, Charli XCX and Piri to create a euphoric dance-indie pop track.
Despite hyper-pop influences, the opening brings R&B to mind. Subtle guitar riffs, ethereal synths, and melodious, soothing vocals ease us into the track before a classic filter sweep creates an effortless transition into a fast-paced dance-floor-worthy tune. Textural changes keep Floating Up from becoming overly repetitive, and the instrumentation is dynamic and exciting, interspersed with drippy synths, clean acoustic guitar, and resonating backing vocals. Drums and a slick bass line provide a consistent driving groove throughout – it’s definitely one to get the party going.
Floating Up is all about finding self-confidence and exploring new possibilities, concepts ESSIRAY couldn’t have done a better job at conveying. Though not necessarily breaking boundaries, Floating Up is lighthearted and refreshing, and it’s just what we need to break out of the winter blues. The good vibes are infectious.
ESSIRAY’s gigs in and around Dublin performing her previous four singles have earned her a reputation as an energetic performer, and I bet she can’t wait to play this crowd-pleaser live. Get ready to blast this one through your speakers this summer!
