S!MONE Flirts with Danger in Borderline

S!MONE Flirts with Danger in Borderline

S!MONE’s latest track Borderline hits like that text from an ex at 2 AM—you know you shouldn’t respond, but your finger’s already hovering over the reply button.

The singer-songwriter bottles the essence of a risky crush and serves it up with a side of dreamy pop and R&B flavours.

S!MONE dives headfirst into the murky waters of attraction, where the lifeguard’s waving a red flag and you’re pretending not to see it.

Her lyrics don’t sugarcoat the situation: “Add gasoline to fire / Only half true telling lies.”

It’s the musical equivalent of your best friend grabbing your phone and saying, “Are you sure about this?”

But let’s talk about that beat for a second. It’s smoother than your excuses for why you’re still hanging out with your “totally platonic” friend.

The production wraps around S!MONE’s vocals like a cosy blanket, lulling you into a false sense of security before the chorus smacks you with its infectious hook.

Speaking of the chorus, “Got me so ooh / So borderline” – it’s the kind of earworm that sets up camp in your brain and refuses to leave. Much like that person you know is trouble but can’t seem to shake.

S!MONE doesn’t just sing about being caught between sense and sensibility; she embodies it.

One moment she’s “breathing tryna stay afloat,” the next she’s admitting “I like it wild.”

It’s this rollercoaster of emotions that makes Borderline feel less like a song and more like a confession you’d whisper to your diary.

The track is a teaser for S!MONE’s upcoming album “Magnet,” and if this is any indication, we’re in for a collection of tunes that’ll have us examining our life choices—and probably making a few questionable ones along the way.

Borderline isn’t here to judge your messy love life. Instead, it offers a soundtrack for those moments when you’re teetering on the edge of a bad decision but can’t bring yourself to step back.

It’s a musical shrug that says, “Yeah, this might end badly, but what a ride it’ll be.”

S!MONE Borderline Lyrics

Verse 1
Oh
Cant deny
Add gasoline to fire
Only half true telling lies
Running full speed to paralyzed

Prechorus
Know I Heard it all before
Know that I should let it go go go
breathing tryna stay afloat

Chorus
Got me so ooh
So borderline
Steady always
Working me overtime.
So Gemini
Pushing me closer to edge
Got me so ooh
So borderline
Steady always
Working me overtime
So Gemini
Pushing me closer to end

Verse 2
Too deep yea don’t make sense
got me in too deep yea yea
don’t make sense yea
ooh

My medicine & poison
But we’ll Play pretend
Long days
Short Nights
Red eye
Direct flights
want you to Say
you’re mine
Don’t Take easy let me learn the hard way

Entertain
I like it wild
20 something

Prechorus
Still I know yea I know
Heard it all before
Know that I should let it go go go
breathing tryna stay afloat

Not enough

Chorus
Got me so ooh
So borderline
Steady always
Working me overtime.
So Gemini
Pushing me closer to edge
Got me so ooh
So borderline
Steady always
Working me overtime
So Gemini
Pushing me closer to end
too deep yea
don’t make sense
got me in too deep yea yea
