Latest track ‘Somber’ by Swedish duo Violet Days featuring morgxn is anything but. Hazy electronica with unfurling synths and dreamy vocals coiling around a raw bassline it is pure driven electro-pop that is driving the crowds wild these days.

Speaking about ‘Somber’ one half of the duo, vocalist Lina Hanson states: “Somber is about meeting someone you know is right for you but you’re questioning if it’s the right timing for it or not – and if you’re really ready.”

Other half of Violet Days Kris Errikson produced one of the biggest hits of the past few years, ‘Paris’ by The Chainsmokers so it’s obvious they both know what works.

The accompanying visuals are dark and moody with a surrealist element which matches the etherealness of the music. Lyrics are poignant,

You’re a night sky getaway
You’re the star that I can’t replace
All the lights, but it’s not the same
Without you, without you
Many miles, got nowhere to go

The debut single from Violet Days, ‘Your Girl,’ gained much success and received over 13 million streams on Spotify alone.
The duo recently featured at SXSW and are preparing for their debut EP ‘Made in My Head’ set for release this summer.
