Najuah is a duo consisting of two sisters Hanifa & Juliet who were born in Kenya and Zimbabwe respectively and raised in Canada to parents who survived the civil war in Uganda.
Their latest song ‘Running’ is a stunning slice of synth-pop with dreamy vocals and a super catchy chorus. The accompanying music video features the sisters with their eclectic fashion style and pops of vibrant colour.
‘Running’ was written by Najuah, produced by Donovan Jarvis (Kevin Gates, YoungThug, Austin Mahone, Musique Soulchild, Chris Brown), Mixed by Gary Noble (Amy Winehouse, Estelle, Tamia, James Arthur) & Mastered by Emily Lazar (SIA, Coldplay, Ruth B, HAIM, Morissey)
Music has been Najuah’s life since day one and this is eminent in their latest release. As they say, “Music became life, a second skin, a soundtrack that would forever shape our lives. As children we grew up listening to songs of the motherland, Uganda Africa. You could also often hear Rock & Roll and R&B classics blaring from our balcony on warm summer nights. Many friendships were made, the music brought us together. Sometimes hearts were broken and it’s that song that seemed to mend them.”
We look forward to hearing more from Najuah.
